Living a sustainable lifestyle has become a way of life here in New York City, and\u00a0Brooklyn Grange<\/a> is making it even easier to keep up healthy habits. This stunning rooftop farm in the heart of the concrete jungle offers more than skyline views and fresh produce, and you\u2019re going to want to add it to your must-visit list this summer.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Grange is an urban farm in Brooklyn with a focus on making a positive social and ecological impact on the community. \u00a0Brooklyn Grange grows and harvests about 80,000 pounds of produce every year at their three rooftop locations (Long Island City, Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Sunset Park). They also produce their own local honey and hot sauce<\/a>, fresh from the farm. Not only is their produce sold wholesale to a number of top New York restaurants, including Lafayette, Upland, Gramercy Tavern and Balaboosta, but they also sell to the public at their weekend farmers markets<\/a>. If you can\u2019t get enough of BG\u2019s produce, consider becoming a member of their CSA program<\/a>, which runs for 23 weeks beginning in May.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Grange hosts a range of workshops, yoga classes, dinners, farm visits, tours, talks, and team-building\u00a0retreats. You can also rent out the incredible space for private parties, from birthdays to weddings.<\/p>\n

Farm Tours<\/h2>\n

Farm tours are available at all three locations ($18 per person) and last for 45 minutes. Advanced registration is required. If you want to make a spontaneous trip to the farm, the Sunset Park location hosts them every Sunday from 11:00 AM \u2013 4:00 PM.<\/p>\n

Rooftop Yoga<\/h2>\n

Grab your yoga mat and Swell bottle and head to Brooklyn Grange\u2019s evening rooftop yoga class ($20 per person). Every Monday at 6:30 PM from June to September, BG hosts a 30-person yoga sesh at their Brooklyn Navy Yard location, and the setting alone will make you feel centered. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n

Workshops<\/h2>\n

To get a full farm learning experience, get your ticket to a unique hands-on workshop<\/a> (prices vary). You can learn how to plant your own urban garden or green wall, make fresh flower crowns, create your own bicycle-powered gelato \u2014 even take an intro to Beekeeping. All of their workshops can also be made into private experiences.<\/p>\n

Butcher Paper Dinners<\/h2>\n

Highly-coveted Butcher Paper Dinners<\/a> are also hosted at BG. These seasonal meals are served family-style with local guest chefs. The current summer calendar dinners sold out in under 24 hours, but they\u2019ll be adding more events soon.<\/p>\n
