Sotheby’s Rosé Wine Guide

April 24, 2020

LIVunLtd Clients joined Yassmin Dever, Wine Advisor from Sotheby’s Wine for a virtual happy hour last week on the LIVunLtd Instagram. This installment was all about Rosé. The world of rosé is boundless with numerous grape varieties and vinification techniques so there is undoubtedly a rosé for every occasion and palate! Here is their curated selection for our clients:

1. 2018 Sotheby’s: Sancerre Rosé ($22.95)

Sancerre Rosé is made from Pinot Noir in the Loire, a region farther north than Provence which has a slightly cooler climate. As a result, this wine tends to have a more vibrant, zesty, zippy character which makes it a particularly refreshing option for the summer and appealing to wine drinkers who favor bone dry, steely, crispy, mineral-driven wines. The perfect summer rosé!

2. 2018 Bedrock Wine Co.: Rosé Ode to Lulu ($21.95)

This juicy and bold Rosé Ode to Lulu bursts with flavor while maintaining beautiful balance and freshness. Orange peel, flowers, delicate red berry fruit, white grapefruit, and lime characterize this rosé crafted from old vines in California. It is a homage to Lulu Peyraud, the proprietor of the famous Domaine Tempier.

3. 2019 Domaine de Triennes Rosé ($17.95)

A super vibrant, fresh and elegant rosé with serious pedigree – Domaine de Triennes is a collaboration between two of Burgundy’s GOATs: Aubert de Villaine (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti) and Jacques Seysses (Domaine Dujac).
